Life Sketches: Personal Story Writing

Personal story writing can spark memories of important people, places and experiences that may have been forgotten. Class members are inspired to put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) to write personal stories on different topics each week. Author and writing teacher, Kim Kovach, shares fun, fresh ideas to turn personal experiences into stories to share with family and friends.
- Week 1 – Introduction to personal story writing and in-class writing topic
- Week 2 – Personal memories associated with a special song
- Week 3 – Awkward teen/tween years
- Week 4 – Remembering a neighborhood “character”
- Week 5 – Reflections on a sibling relationship

Kim Kovach has a BA degree in creative writing and teaches fiction writing and personal story writing. Kim’s career path includes public relations and business writing, elementary school teacher and children’s librarian. Kim writes a weekly newspaper column and articles for magazines.
