CANCELLED Reading and Writing Poetry

3:10 PM – 4:50 PM

3/12, 3/19, 3/26, 4/2, 4/9, 4/16

CANCELLED Poetry can bring about a different sort of awareness, move us closer to what is vital and elusive and provide a welcome relief from the constant assault of media and technology. As Wallace Stevens has written, “Poetry preserves within ourselves the necessary space of imagination, possibility, humanity, love.” You are invited to come carve that space for yourself as we explore the world of poetry. We start each session with reading and discussing several contemporary poems on a specific theme, using them as an inspiration and springboard. Time is allotted for writing our own poems and participants are invited to share their work in a welcoming and encouraging place.
